Example 1
Mary wants to go shopping at Tesco Brent Park from 10am to 11am on Tuesday so she goes onto www.tescocarbonvoyage.com and books a vehicle to take her there and back.
Hannah lives close to Mary and also wants to go shopping at Tesco Brent Park on Tuesday morning; instead of taking her own car, she goes onto www.tescocarbonvoyage.com and discovers someone else lives nearby and is going at 10am on Tuesday.
Hannah decides to share with that person and so gets picked up at 10.05am once Mary has been picked up.
They get taken to the shops and then their vehicle is waiting for them at 11am.
By sharing, Hannah only pays £7 instead of £10 and the carbon footprint of her journey is halved because it is shared with Mary.
Example 2
Bob is shopping in Tesco Brent Cross and has a bit too much shopping to walk home with.
He calls up the Tesco Carbon Voyage service and discovers that there is a journey going his way in 30 minutes that he can share.
Bob finishes off his shopping and is outside 30 minutes later where he meets Julie and they jump in a waiting minicab.
By sharing, Bob only pays £5 instead of the normal £8 and his carbon footprint is halved because he has shared his journey home.
Book through us and we will help to reduce the cost of your journey – money, time and carbon.
Money: If we can find you an opportunity to share a vehicle or fill an empty return journey, you will pay less money than if you travelled by yourself.
Time: Our unified booking application gives you access to a massive group of ground transport suppliers, improving responsiveness to your needs. At the end of the journey, we consolidate all of your booking costs, so we save you the hassle of recording each trip's expenditure.
Carbon: By sharing or filling empty journeys, or potentially using a low carbon transport option, your carbon footprint will be lowered. We will then offset the remaining footprint through our friends at Planet Positive.
Sharing taxis and minicabs is an easy way for you to help reduce the impact of carbon on the environment. We have built some smart things into our application that will automatically link you up with other sharing opportunities that are close to matching what your own travel needs are.
